Bryan Woods, Vice President
787 Program
Bryan Woods was named Vice President of 787 Program and Operations in February of 2023. In his current role he is responsible for program strategy, execution, and P&L for all 787 products manufactured globally.
Prior to his current role, Woods was the Vice President of 747/767/777/777X Program and Operations. Woods assumed the role of Program Leader on the Twin Aisle Programs in December of 2019. Woods held numerous leadership roles in supply chain management, director of strategic sourcing, responsible for leading Spirit’s global process of driving efficient and effective strategic cross-business and cross-functional sourcing decisions and projects. He also served as the director of transfer of work and director of global sourcing management, responsible for the annual direct material spend of $3.5 billion for the company.
Other prior roles at Spirit include serving as the program director for the A350 S15 program; A350 deputy program manager and senior integrated product team leader; and as a stress engineer on strut programs. Woods holds a patent for a system and method to form and heat treat metal parts during titanium additive manufacturing.
Before joining Spirit AeroSystems, Woods served in the Army National Guard, enlisting as a mechanic and accepting his commission as an officer in 2004. He served in multiple roles including maintenance officer, transportation officer and multi-functional logistics officer. In 2010, he deployed to Iraq to support Operation Iraqi Freedom, supervising heavy lift operations in Northern Iraq.
Woods holds a master of business administration degree from Newman University in Wichita, Kan., and also a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, S.D.
He also graduated from United States Army Transportation Captains Career Course, the Army Ordnance Officer Basic Course at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, the Army Support Operations Phase II Course, Army Airborne School, Air Assault School and the Army’s Mountain Warfare School.
Woods and his wife, Rachael, who also works at Spirit, have two children, Kierra and Ayden.
